Hey guys, Just wanted to know people's experience with taking either a solar panel or a power bank on the trail. Section hiking from KEnnedy Meadows to Ashland from August to October. Does anyone have any opinions relating to this and what's the best way to charge your electrics. Is it easy enough to recharge the power bank when you get to resupplies / towns? Is the solar panel more reliable power? I'll be charging an iPhone and a camera battery regularly. I do already own a good solar panel but it doesn't have the capability to store power (needs to charge items directly) so I'll likely have to bring a small capacity power bank anyway. Thoughts? Thanks for any advice or experience - cheers!

I've just bought an rechargeable solar power bank for my wemos d1 mini based dht22 temperature logger. My idea was to use this setup outdoor while keeping the esp in deep sleep mode between the measurements. The problem is, when the esp goes to deep sleep mode the power bank turns off (possibly because not enough current is drawn when the unit is in deep sleep mode and the power bank thinks there is nothing to charge) and stays in that state until I either press the power button on the power bank or reconnect the esp via usb.

Does anyone have any luck with rechargeable power banks? Or is there any workaround for this problem?
